Enthusiastic Washington Students
are Honored
More than 20 enthusiastic Washington Primary School students were honored last week for their all-around effort and performance in-and-out of the classroom during February.
Washington Principal Marsha Neville and the school's teachers recognized Erid Hernandez-Benitez, Aadi Bhardhwaj, Estyven Arreaga, Britney Romero-Jaramillo, Karla Velasquez, Christopher Grover, Sakhia Griffin, Tyler Godin, Anaya Watkis, Karen Ulloa-Moya, Sarah Krisch, Enoc Galeas, Jr., Milagro Alfaro, Dylan Coleman, Marques Gaskin, Margo Nitekman, Kimberly Santos, Thomas Fucci, Kevin Granados-Lopez, Jack Kurathowski and Ryan Sirio.
The classes of second grade teacher Maria Lanzot and fourth grade teacher Cindy Palmirotto were also honored for their collective good works and practices.
The names of the honorees were announced over the school's public address system as the entire student body cheered along Washington's hallways. Mrs. Nelville presented certificates to each of the Washington Ways award recipients in the main lobby and then assembled the group for a commemorative photo.
"It's always exciting to congratulate students for working hard and doing the right thing," Mrs. Neville said. "These youngsters have been very conscientious in their classrooms and during other activities around the school. It's wonderful to be able to honor them in this way."
