Announcement Concerning Inclement Weather Procedures

As we anticipate the potential for the first significant snowfall of the school year, please be reminded that if there are hazardous road conditions during the Tuesday morning hours, there may be either a 2-hour delay or closing based upon the day's forecast. A call, e-mail and/or text message would be sent as early as possible alerting families and staff of the situation.

If the day begins clear and the weather takes an unexpected turn for the worse prior to the end of school, an early dismissal might be implemented, again, depending on forecast and severity. If such action were taken, we would begin the transportation process slightly earlier at the high school and middle school, which would translate to similar early dismissals at the elementary schools. Again, we would communicate as early as possible with parents so that appropriate arrangements could be made.

Please note - schools are currently scheduled to open and close on Tuesday at their regular times, with all activities in place. This communication is simply to remind you of general procedures as the inclement weather season is essentially upon us.

Sincerely,

James W. Polansky

Superintendent of Schools
