Flower Hill Science Fair is Wonderful

The Flower Hill Primary School Science Fair drew dozens of entries and a large turnout of parents and families members to an evening display of the projects. Principal Marlon Small beamed as visitors to the fair went from project-to-project to view the students' work, which took many hours to research and create.

"Our students learned more about the scientific process and how to conduct research," Mr. Small said. "The projects were wonderful." The first place finishers at each respective grade level are eligible to advance to the Brookhaven National Lab's spring science fair.

Each class in the school completed a joint project for the fair and many individual students also submitted projects. A panel of judges reviewed all entries and awarded first, second and third place to projects on each grade level.

Parents were intrigued with the projects and proud, too. "They were all quite impressive," one mom said.
