Flower Hill Honors ESL Students

Flower Hill Primary School recently honored eight students who passed the New York State English as a Second Language Achievement Test (NYSESLAT) last spring. The students' names were announced over the school's public address system and each of the youngsters was given a fancy certificate in recognition of their accomplishment.

The students include Heidi Vigil, Isabella Granados, Ireny Veliz-Garcia, Julio Martinez, Elson Gonzalez, Jennifer Escobar, Yorimilet Rodriguez and Jason Hernandez-Aparicio.

Teachers Liane Neumann and Claudia Gonzalez and Principal Marlon Small joined the eight youngsters for a photo to commemorate the occasion.

"It's delightful to honor such a hardworking group of students and their teachers," Mr. Small said. "All of us at Flower Hill School are appreciative of the support the parents of these children provided us with over the past year."
