Cable Todd Jamison has been appointed as Huntington High School's fall and spring season semester speed, strength and conditioning coach.

Lynn Hefele (varsity girls' volleyball), Kathleen Wright (varsity field hockey), James Byrnes (JV head football), Michael Bifulco (JV assistant football), Kevin Thorbourne (Finley assistant football), Catherine Ruggiero (assistant varsity field hockey) and Marissa Bergmann (JV field hockey) have been named to the fall coaching staff.

HHS Boys' Lax Honorees

The Huntington High School varsity boys' lacrosse team had several post-season honorees on its roster. Jack Cutrone, Dan Plant and Tyler Greenhill won All-Division and All-County recognition. Conor Reilly and Patrick Reilly were named All-Division. Timothy Mattiace earned Rookie of the Year honors.

The Blue Devil players picked up their awards at the Suffolk Boys' Lacrosse Coaches Assn. annual banquet at East Wind Caterers in Wading River.

Finley Fall Sports

J. Taylor Finley Middle School students interested in participating in the fall sports program should re-qualify with the school nurse during their lunch period on either Wednesday, September 5 or Thursday, September 6. Students needing a sports physical can obtain one from the school doctor on Tuesday, September 4 from 8-10 a.m. at the school.

Information concerning fall team tryouts will be distributed during lunch periods on Wednesday, September 5. Tryouts begin on Thursday, September 6. For more information call the athletic office at 673-2018.

New Finley CC Coach

The J. Taylor Finley Middle School cross country team has a new coach. Robert Nill has been hired to lead the Falcons this fall. He is a graduate of Southern Connecticut State University with a BS degree in recreational leadership in 1976 and a MS degree in physical education in 1980.

Mr. Nill has served since 2010 as Deer Park High School's varsity girls' winter and spring track coach.

McDonnell New JV Soccer Coach

Brianne McDonnell has been hired to coach the Huntington High School girls' junior varsity soccer team. She obtained a BA degree in physical education at Adelphi University in 2011. She is currently studying at Adelphi for a MA degree in health education.

Ms. McDonnell has worked as the assistant women's soccer coach at Adelphi and as the head girls' soccer and girls' basketball coach at Yeshiva University High School.

Finley Fall Team Lineup

The fall sports season at J. Taylor Finley Middle School will run from September 6 through November 4. There will be two football teams as well as field hockey, boys' soccer, girls' soccer, girls' tennis and co-ed cross country squads.
