Trustee to Read from New Book at Book Revue
Emily Rogan, a two-term member of the Huntington School Board, will participate in a book reading and signing event at Book Revue on Friday, February 11 at 7 p.m.
The book, "Fits, Starts & Matters of the Heart: 28 True Stories of Love, Loss & Everything in Between," is an anthology of essays authored by a group of top writers and journalists who are regular contributors to magazines and newspapers.
Mrs. Rogan is among the writers who contributed essays to the new book. She will be joined at Book Revue by two other contributors to the book. The group will chat briefly about the book's origins, read their essays and sign copies of the volume.
"If you have fallen in love, been betrayed, lost or cannot connect with a parent, you will understand the feelings these essays evoke," according to a summary posted on Book Revue's website. "Read about the daughter who learns that the way into her father's heart is through her hair. Even if you do not have a pet, you will appreciate the tale of a Labrador that wreaked havoc on one woman's idyllic relationship with her boyfriend until she, too, fell in love with the beautiful canine. Through stories about rediscovering tribal roots, rejuvenating a rock star fan, and cooking a recipe of love, writers express the enduring power of relationships."
A packed room is expected. Book Revue is located at 313 New York Avenue in Huntington village. For more information, call 271-1442.
