Change Order for Smoke Doors

Huntington School Board members approved a contract change order related to a capital project/facility upgrade involving "smoke doors" at Huntington High School.

"In order for large instruments, such as tympanis and pianos to fit through the smoke doors, we need to provide for removable mullions," explained David H. Grackin, assistant superintendent of finance and management services. "Our architect, Burton, Behrendt & Smith, recommends this and has discussed the cost of this with the contractor, Valco, Inc."

The agreed upon price to modify the two door frames amounts to $3,924. "We are still well within the budget for this project," Mr. Grackin said.
