Huntington Wilson Tech Students Win Chamber Contest

Lukasz Leonczuk and Anthony Lupo are going places. The two Huntington High School students are enrolled in BOCES-Wilson Tech's advertising and graphic design program. The teenagers are so talented they each recently captured first place in the Young Professionals Chamber of Commerce business leadership contest.

Mr. Leonczuk earned top honors in the advertising competition for his creative campaign to promote the new Chevrolet Volt electric car. Mr. Lupo grabbed first place in graphic design for his original concepts for logo, business card, letterhead and envelope to promote the fictional Brew Right Café.

The two Huntington High School seniors were recognized for their creative designs, the marketability of their concepts and for their professional presentations when they "pitched" their original business concepts to a panel of judges selected from local businesses. The 8th annual competition was sponsored by the Huntington Chamber of Commerce.

The creative duo is looking ahead to their graduation next June. Mr. Leonczuk is planning to join the armed forces while Mr. Lupo intends to study graphic design in college.

Registration is taking place now for September 2011 enrollment in any of Wilson Tech's 27 technical and career programs for high school students. Call 667-6000, extension 300 for more information or contact the Huntington High School guidance office at 673-2011/2013.
