Trustees Accept Resignations and Approve Personnel Changes

 

At its meeting this past Monday night, the Huntington School Board accepted the resignations of high school teacher aides Linda Guido and Catherine Rodriquez and Woodhull Intermediate School food service worker Lucretia Contreras for personal reasons.

 

Trustees granted a leave of absence for high school teacher aide Denise DePaquale (effective Sept. 25 to Jan. 4, 2010) and approved the return of Washington Primary School first grade teacher Adrienne DiMaggio from a child care related leave of absence. Heather Spatafora was approved for a probationary teacher appointment and assigned to Jack Abrams Intermediate School.

 

School Board members approved Gloria Wilson to work as a full-time security guard, effective Oct. 26 and gave part-time appointments to Lucy Ann DiChiaro (Teacher Center clerk typist) and high school food service worker Penny Brown.

 

Trustees also took the following actions:


• Authorized the following individuals to work as per diem substitute teachers at the rate of $90 per day: Margaret Dukoff, Michael Brinn, Kaitlin Bromwell, Andrea Caserta, Renee DiMeo, Wanda Gonzalez, Flavia Gorini, Katie Himelein, Sheila Kearney, Amie Leggett, Kerrianne Lynch, Barbara McMahon, Beth Minoff, Peter Muneyyirci, Madeleine Panciroli, Jeanne Pomponio, Gbenja Showunmi, Leslie Sullivan, Justin Sulsky, Bruce Roy, Nicholas Tremaroli, Valerie Wendt, Adrienne Wood, Angela Rogan and Kathleen DeLuca.

 

• Approved Huntington Intermediate School classroom teacher Allison VonVange to work as a home tutor during the 2009/10 school at a pay rate of $47.07 per hour.

 

• Approved salary schedule changes for teachers Tara Adams and Peter Crugnale. They completed a set of 15 graduate level credits.

 

• Appointed Robert Gilmor the advisor to the Natural Helpers program at Huntington High School. He will be paid $47.07 per hour for up to 50 hours. A Title IV Safe and Drug Fee Schools grant will cover the cost of the stipend.

 

• Changed the assignments of teacher aide Linda Lombardi and food service worker Juana Espinal.

 

• Approved Camille Tedeschi and Camille DeCanio as teachers in the after school program in the Huntington High School library. The teachers will be paid $47.07 per hour for up to four hours per week. Georganne White was authorized to work as a substitute teacher in the program. She, too, will be paid at a rate of $47.07 per hour.

 

• Authorized undetermined science teachers to work up to a total of 32 hours at Huntington High School and eight hours at J. Taylor Finley Middle School compiling inventories of chemicals. The teachers will be paid $47.07 per hour.

 

• Authorized Elaine Gilmartin and Denise Fields to provide additional counseling for middle school and high school students at a rate of $50 per hour. A Title IV Safe and Drug Free Schools grant will cover the cost of the stipends.

 

• Added Angela Rogan (aide), Lauren Rispoli (aide), Nancy McArthur (aide, clerical), Gabrielle Gurrieri (aide), Patricia DeLecce (clerical), Azucena Garay (food service), Cynthia Fitzmaurice-Nigro (aide), Deborah Caravetto (aide, clerical), Kathleen DeLuca (aide, clerical) and Barbara Cali (aide, clerical) to the list of approved substitute employees.

 

• Approved the recall of teacher aide Andrea Myssiorek and food service worker Brenda Thompson. Their positions had been excessed. They were recalled to fill positions vacated by other employees.

 

• Authorized Peter Ravo to work as a long-term substitute teacher through June 30, 2010 at Jack Abrams Intermediate School. He will be filling in for Scott Armyn, who is serving as dean of students at the school while on a leave of absence as a classroom teacher.
