Huntington School Board Notes

Huntington School Board members approved the addition of the Suffolk Men’s Soccer League to the list of approved users of district facilities. The non-profit organization seeks “to maintain a healthy and fit lifestyle while fostering team building and competitive spirit through sport,” according to a letter of application submitted by Scott Ryerson, a team manager and player. The group will provide written proof of liability insurance in the amount of $1 million, naming the Huntington UFSD as an additional insured and certificate holder.

A series of transfers between budget codes was also approved to cover costs associated with physical education department supplies ($700), a computer for the transportation office ($1,000), Mathletes club faculty advisors ($1,700), National History Day registration fees ($400), high school special education department protocols and unanticipated supplies ($5,379.64) and buses for a new Mathletes program ($1,025).
