Top Finley Musicians Inducted into Tri-M Honor Society

It was a festive occasion as the J. Taylor Finley Middle School chapter of the Tri-M Music Honor Society inducted 30 new members to its ranks.  The evening featured warm words of praise along with a series of pleasing musical selections

The new members include Jonathan Bethiel, Zach Burden, Jonathan Engle, Marc Feldman, Jesse Feldman-Stein, Nina Flores, Katherine Gerdes, Alexa Gorczycki, Chelsea Holmes, Kathryn Ingle, Christian Jamison, Emily Kata, Alexandria Mandriotta, Brian McConnell, Hayley McLean, Ashley Melgar, Kevin Montefusco, Josh Morris, Daniel Moya, Ben Nikodem, Monica Owen, Olivia Palmer, Stephanie Shea, Matthew Sherman, Josh Solomowitz, Lyndsey Williams, Jonathan Wood, Margot Yanuck and Samuel Yanuck.

One-by-one, Tri-M officers spoke about the meaning of the society and what the group seeks to accomplish.  Parents in the audience smiled broadly, snapped photos and filmed the event and gushed with pride.

A special acknowledgement was directed to the continuing members of Tri-M.  The group includes Matthew Beeby, Brianne Bennett, Andrea Cerini, Jimmy Ferraiolo, Francesca Gray, Sara Lockwood, Katie Petrozzo, Margaret Petryk, Jennifer Polster, Christine Powers, Kevin Solomowitz and Adelia Witt.

Following the formal ceremonies, a reception for parents and students was held in the school lobby, providing another opportunity for still more photos.  With the Huntington community placing so much value on the arts, induction into the music honor society is an impressive and cherished accomplishment.

Ms. Witt is serving as the society’s president this year.  The slate of officers also includes Mr. Solomowitz (vice-president), Ms. Lockwood (secretary), Mr. Ferraiolo (treasurer) and Ms. Cerini (historian).  Finley music teacher Debbie Kim serves as the Tri-M faculty advisor.
