College Financial Aid Night on
Jan. 7 at Huntington High School

The Huntington High School College Center is sponsoring a special Financial Aid Night for the parents of seniors on Thursday, January 7 at 7 p.m. Attendance at the event is strongly encouraged.

The evening will include a presentation by Phyllis Greco, senior financial aid counselor at Adelphi University. She will explain the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), parent and student loan options and scholarships.

Familiarity with the FAFSA form is especially important, according to school officials, since it forms the basis for need-based federal financial aid as well as non-need based federally backed student loans and is frequently required when applying for state level need-based or merit aid.

The Huntington College Center has already processed hundreds of college applications for members of this year’s senior class and acceptance letters have begun arriving in the mail.

For more information about Financial Aid Night or College Center related programs contact Huntington college counselor Bernadette Walsh at 673-2131 or bwalsh@hufsd.edu.
