Trustees approved a resignation and retirement request submitted by Flower Hill Primary School teacher Noel Monbleau-Harper, effective June 30. She has worked in Huntington for the past 13 years.

Elementary classroom teacher Tracey McManus was approved to return from a child care leave of absence, effective Jan 28. She was assigned to Southdown Primary School.

Trustees approved leaves of absence for speech therapist Blake Woodworth (Jan. 28 – June 30), music teacher Darlene Graham (Jan. 28 – June 30) and school psychologist Julissa Garris (Feb. 6 – April 30) for child care reasons.

Jill Lowe (Finley/high school ESL teacher, Jan. 8 – June 30), Risa Brachman (Flower Hill speech therapist, Jan. 28 – June 30), Scott Leonardi (Flower Hill classroom, Jan. 28 – June 30), Akira Byng (Woodhull music, Jan. 28 – June 30) and Kathleen Mallen Ozimowski (school psychologist, Jan. 1 – May 2) were approved to work as long term substitutes.

Part-time Jefferson Primary School music teacher Jennifer Ferragamo was approved for additional work related to a student dress rehearsal and concert.

Chris Dugan (computer), Todd Hiscox (art), Martha Ironman (newspaper), Nicole Parrett (theatre arts) and Maryann Sacher (student council) were appointed Woodhull Intermediate School club advisors. Susan Hahn and Elizabeth Boyd-Lupi were approved as drama club advisors at Huntington Intermediate School.

Maria Canino and Kristen Giani were approved to work as supervisors at athletic events. They will be paid $29.63 per hour when they work.
Kevin McQuade was hired as to work as a driver education instruction at a rate of pay of $43.68 per hour.

Trustees set the piano accompanist pay rate at $24 per hour, effective for the 2007-08 school year.

Irene Sofos was approved to work as an after school educator in the Huntington Intermediate School ELA, math and science test preparation program. She will be paid $45.77 per hour for approximately two hours per week. Alice Pancir will serve as a substitute on an as-needed basis. The program is funded by a grant.

Teachers Allison Von Vange (Huntington Intermediate) and Martha Reilly (Woodhull Intermediate) were appointed science club advisors at their respective schools. The positions carry stipends of $750.

Maria Lanzot, Jill Lowe and Wilson Douce were appointed Saturday Academy teachers. The will teach pre-literacy skills to kindergarten and first grade English Language Learner students. The appointments are effective Jan. 26 – June 21. The hourly stipend of $45.77 will be covered by a Title III grant.

Lydia Babbit, Sandra Cabrera, Alida Jade Edwards, Eric Fraiberg, Lauren Frisenda, Sara Hene, Kathleen Hock, Michelle Karson, Filomena Ricciardi, Declan Uzoeshi and Paul Zarcone were approved to work as per diem substitutes on an as-needed basis. They will be paid $90 per day when they work.

Kathryn Termini was hired to work two periods per day as an ESL tutor at Huntington High School, effective Jan. 8 – June 30. She will be paid $30 per period, which will be funded by a Title III grant.

Retired Huntington school psychologist Irene Bauer was hired to work part-time for a total of 20 days through June 30 at the rate of $400 per diem. She will complete triennial re-evaluations and start annual reviews of students.
