Top Finley Musicians Inducted into Tri-M Honor Society
It was a festive occasion as the J. Taylor Finley Middle School chapter of the Tri-M Music Honor Society inducted 20 new members, effectively tripling its ranks. The evening featured warm words of praise along pleasing musical selections
The new members include Matthew Beeby, Brianne Bennett, Kristina Casale, Andrea Cerini, Jimmy Ferraiolo, Francesca Gray, Diana Harvey, Jaclyn Herrington, Chieh Hsu, Colin Kirkpatrick, Sara Lockwood, Nicholas Maiarelli, Mary Maiorello, Katie Petrozzo, Margaret Petryk, Jennifer Polster, Christine Powers, Jesse Rigot, Kevin Solomowitz and Adelia Witt.
One-by-one, Tri-M officers spoke about the meaning of the society and what the group seeks to accomplish. Parents in the audience displayed wide smiles, snapped photos and filmed the event and gushed with pride.
Special certificates were presented to the continuing members of Tri-M. The group includes Marie Clifford, Holly Flores, Jake Goldstein, Andrew Ku, Oliver Lockwood, Justin LoScalzo, Michael Marchetta, Alexandra Martinolich, Marissa Schedler and Sarah Whelton.
Following the formal ceremonies, a reception for parents and students was held in the school lobby, providing another opportunity for still more photos. With the Huntington community placing so much value on the arts, induction into the music honor society is an impressive accomplishment.
Mr. LoScalzo is serving as president of the society this year. The slate of officers also includes Ms. Clifford, Ms. Martinolich, Ms. Harvey and Mr. Maiarelli. Finley music teacher Debbie Kim serves as the Tri-M faculty advisor.
