Adam J. Shapiro, a member of Huntington High School’s Class of 1988, is an executive editor at WNBC-TV in New York City. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism at Syracuse University.

 

Mr. Shapiro, who resides in Manhattan, came to WNBC in June 2006 and has also served there as a general assignment reporter and substitute anchor.

 

Earlier in his career, Mr. Shapiro anchored morning and evening shows in Cleveland, Ohio and also performed reporting for various WEWS-TV news shows. He won a local Emmy Award and was named “Ohio’s Best Reporter” in 2004 by the Associated Press. He has also worked as a Fox News Channel correspondent in Chicago and in positions in South Bend, Indiana and Indianapolis. His reporting on the Black Panther Militia while employed in the latter city won an Emmy Award.

 

According to the WNBC-TV website, Mr. Shapiro enjoys restoring antique cars with a special affinity for the Studebaker.



Richard A. Clarke, a member of Huntington High School’s Class of 1978, is president of Clarke Advertising, a firm founded in 1965 by his father, George.

 

After his Huntington graduation, Mr. Clarke earned a degree at the State University of New York and went to work for Clarke Advertising as an account executive and eventually “worked his way through every department,” according to a profile found on the company website (www.gpclarke.com).

 

The company is located in offices at 127 E. 30th Street in Manhattan. Mr. Clarke resides in Weehawken, New Jersey. He is married to Nanci and together they have a daughter, Nicole.

 

Mr. Clarke’s expertise has helped his firm gain an impressive list of clients. “Today Clarke Advertising enjoys success largely due to his in-depth understanding of advertising and marketing, particularly in the fields of banking and financial services, the automotive aftermarket and health care,” according to the company website.



Christopher A. Berti (Huntington Class of 1977) is an associate professor of art at Parkland College in Champaign, Illinois. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in ceramics at Alfred University in 1981 and obtained a Master of Fine Arts in ceramics in 1983 at Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.

Parkland is a community college that opened in 1967. It enrolls about 18,000 students on its 233 acre campus and offers 100 degree and certificate programs. It is located about 2 ½ hours from both Chicago and Indianapolis and 3 ½ hours from St. Louis.

 

Mr. Berti resides in Urbana, Illinois with his wife, Laura O’Donnell. Together they have two children, Leah and Gabriel. Mr. Berti can be contacted at cberti@parkland.edu.



Jason I. Pape (Huntington Class of 1990) is a doctor of chiropractic at Intelligent Wellness in Commack. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology at Penn State University and obtained a Doctor of Chiropractic degree at New York Chiropractic College, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1997.

 

Dr. Pape and his wife, Eria, reside in Huntington Station.



James David McNabb (Huntington Class of 1958) is an ophthalmologist with Eye Physicians of Austin in Texas, where he resides with his wife, Kay Lynn. Together the couple has two children, Keith and Kelsey.

 

Dr. McNabb earned an undergraduate degree at the University of Rochester, a Master of Science degree in anatomy at McGill University and obtained his MD at the University of Texas Medical Branch.

 

Dr. McNabb’s surgical practice is centered on cataract and refractive (LASIK) operations. He also provides nutritional consults for macular degeneration, diabetes, hypertension, obesity, multiple sclerosis, and allergic diseases. He was named one of America’s top ophthalmologists by the Consumers Research Council of America.



Michael Naidus (Huntington Class of 1981) is a television producer with Worldwide Pants Inc. a production company formed by David Letterman in 1993 that has various television and movie credits under its proverbial belt.

 

Mr. Naidus has produced “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson” and “The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn,” among other projects. He works and lives in Los Angeles, California.
