Casey Goldberg Appointed High School Guidance Counselor
Casey Goldberg has been approved to work as a guidance counselor at Huntington High School during the 2007-08 school year, filling in for tenured counselor Victoria Maisano, who is taking a child care leave of absence from her permanent position. School Board members made the appointment at their July meeting.
The new counselor graduated from Indiana University in May 2005 with a Bachelor of Science degree in human development and family studies and obtained a Master of Science in Education degree this past May at Hofstra University in school counseling.
Prior to coming to Huntington, Ms. Goldberg worked as a teacher assistant at Syosset High School (Oct. 2005 – June 2006) and an intern/permanent substitute at Half Hollow Hills High School East (Jan. – June 2007). She was a guidance intern at Lindenhurst Middle School from Sept. to Dec. 2006.
District officials reviewed applications from a dozen candidates and interviewed all of them prior to recommending Ms. Goldberg for the year-long appointment.
