Alumni Association Memorabilia Auction Beckons Huntington Grads

Huntington High School graduates of any age shouldn’t miss this event. The school’s Alumni Association is putting the finishing touches on a fine arts, sports and music memorabilia auction to be held on Saturday, March 29 at 7 p.m. at the Dolan Family Health Center, located at 284 Pulaski Road in Greenlawn. Proceeds will benefit the Alumni Association scholarship fund.

A music memorabilia component is the latest edition to the evening, which promises to be special on many fronts, from reuniting classmates and friends to raising funds for Alumni Association programs. The night will feature a “Taste of Huntington,” with tasty morsels from area establishments.

All artwork will be custom framed and matted. Opening bids will be up to 50 percent below traditional framed gallery prices. An extensive selection of sports, music and entertainment memorabilia will also be available.

Organizers hope the convenient area location and informal nature of the event attracts scores of Huntington graduates. “It’s always fun to see classmates and reminisce about days gone by,” Superintendent John J. Finello said. “We have so many alumni living in the community and so many graduates you take pride in their old high school.”

The March 29th event, which will be held in cooperation with AJ Ross Auctions, will mark the first such auction of its type for the group. Doors will open at 6 p.m. for a preview of auction items.

Tickets are priced at $10 and include various refreshments and appetizers along with dessert and coffee. For more information call (631) 791-1692 or send an e-mail to auction2008@huntingtonalumni.org.
