Llorente Hired to Teach Music
Josephine Llorente has been appointed to work as a probationary music teacher in the Huntington School District. She will be assigned to Woodhull, Jefferson and Washington schools in 2010/11.
Ms. Llorente graduated this past spring from SUNY College at Potsdam's Crane School of Music. District officials reviewed 35 applications and pre-screened 20 candidates for the post before conducting five formal interviews that produced a positive recommendation for Ms. Llorente.
The new Huntington teacher worked in the Island Trees school district's summer music program (2005 to 2010) and as a teacher of group lessons in the National Spring Project at Potsdam (fall 2008, spring 2009).
Ms. Llorente's probationary period will run to September 1, 2013.
