Finley Boys’ Lax-8 is Perfect
The J. Taylor Finley Middle School eighth grade boys’ lacrosse team closed out its season with a perfect 10-0 mark under coaches Rick Eriksen and Vincent Tannazzo.
The 34-player squad was captained by Billy Martin, JT Caputo and Nick Arleo. Martin, John Shea and Tom Plant led the “A” team attack, which typically scored in double figures.
Caputo, Arleo, Ben Kocis and Anthony Puca comprised the “A” team midfield. “They played well together and could help clear the ball and score goals,” said Eriksen about the group.
Christian Jamison, Henry Rogan, Tom Waldron, Tim Beck and Dan Costa “held down the fort” as the “A” team’s defense. The group was tenacious in its play and held opposing offenses to a handful of goals most games.
With a core of solid players, member of this year’s Falcon team should be able to make an immediate impact on the junior varsity level next spring for Huntington High School.
