HARTE Scholarship Goes to Adam Fagnani
The Huntington Association of Retired Teachers and Employees has awarded a $1,200 scholarship to Fordham-bound Huntington High School senior Adam Fagnani, who is one of the top students in the Class of 2009.
“HARTE is very proud to present this award to a very deserving senior,” retired teacher Eileen Darwin said. “This young person is an extremely capable, hard-working student, taking academics very seriously, a quick learner and a team player. With his strong work ethic and sense of enthusiasm, he will bring honor to Fordham University.”
Mr. Fagnani has been a member of the Blue Devil varsity lacrosse and volleyball teams and the Natural Helpers club. “This program allows Adam to demonstrate his endearing character to other students by serving as a trustworthy and faithful friend and allowing students to seek support from him,” Mrs. Darwin said.
Regarded as a highly motivated, well-rounded student, Mr. Fagnani’s hard work and effort has helped distinguish him among the senior class. He has thrived academically, athletically and socially. Mrs. Darwin described the teenager as “an outstanding, dynamic individual who appreciates every aspect of life.”
HARTE has presented an annual scholarship to a graduating senior for many years. The award is supported by dues from the organization’s members. This year’s scholarship was presented at last week’s senior academic awards night in the high school auditorium.
“Truly a leader among his classmates, HARTE takes great pleasure in presenting this $1,200 award to Adam Fagnani,” Mrs. Darwin said. “Congratulations!”
