U.S. Lax Great to Give Free Clinic this Wednesday

Matt Danowski, one of the greatest lacrosse players in U.S. history, will present a free shooting clinic on Wednesday at 7 p.m. on the Huntington High School synthetic turf field. Players of all ages are invited to attend. No registration is required.

Danowski, who currently plays on professional teams in two different leagues, was a four-time All-American at Duke University and is the all-time NCAA lacrosse leader in total points (goals plus assists). He was named U.S. Intercollegiate Lacrosse Assn. Player of the Year twice and also won the 2007 Tewaaraton Trophy, which is presented to the “most outstanding” player in America. On two other occasions, he was picked as the top attackman in the country.

Following the Blue Devil Stadium shooting clinic and a related shooting exhibition, Danowski will hold a question-and-answer session with participants, who are expected to range from elementary school age to college players.

During his Duke career, Danowski scored 170 goals and notched 183 assists, good for 353 points. Huntington area players are encouraged to bring their friends to the free clinic.
