Principal’s Message
As I begin my third year in the Huntington School District, I am grateful for the opportunity to work with our fine students. This school district is so rich in history, fine arts, academics and athletics. I am proud to serve as the Principal of J. Taylor Finley Middle School.
Educating children has changed in so many ways over the past ten years, yet teaching children about respecting themselves, others and their environment is a timeless idea. We strive to do that everyday at Finley. We start the day with our “Words of Wisdom.” Every student listens to a brief quote from a prominent or famous person who values humanity in all its forms. People such as Anne Frank, who overcame the horrors of World War II to teach us about perseverance and inner strength.
I would like to wish everyone good luck as we begin the new year. I invite parents to fully participate in their children’s education. Communication is the key to student success. Keep an eye on the district calendar for Finley events and please drop in to see what we’re all about.
