The District Clerk & Records Office
Huntington School District Clerk Elizabeth Troffa is appointed annually by the Board of Education and is an officer of the district. The district clerk serves as the clerk of all district meetings. Minutes of all meetings, including any votes taken, are recorded by the clerk. The district clerk also serves as clerk of the annual school district meeting and election held each year on the third Tuesday in May. Absentee ballot applications and ballots may be obtained in the district clerk’s office.
The district clerk also serves as the Records Access Officer. The Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) requires school districts to allow the public access to official documents and records. Only existing records are subject to disclosure. The Huntington School District requires interested persons to make their request for records in writing. A FOIL form can be downloaded from a link on this page. In accordance with state law, the district may charge a fee for copying records.
The district clerk’s office is located in the district’s administrative wing at Jack Abrams School (entrance at 50 Tower Street).
