Art Show Set for May 21-22 at Huntington High School

It will be an incredible experience for folks of all ages that take the time to tour the Huntington School District's annual art show. The exhibit will feature pieces ranging from painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics and computer graphics to advertising, fashion design, photography and video arts.
The show is set for Tuesday and Wednesday, May 21-22 in the high school's Louis D. Giani Gymnasium. Admission is free and open to the public. The exhibit will feature exceptional artwork created by Huntington students on every grade level. The work will include every type of media and showcase the numerous opportunities available to students in fine and computer-generated art studies.
"Huntington is home to among the finest student artists and talented art teachers," Superintendent James W. Polansky said. "The upcoming show will provide a great opportunity for parents, friends and community residents to view the products of this talent, creativity and dedication firsthand."
On Tuesday, May 21 a special fashion show consisting of student designs will be held at 4 p.m. and again at 7 p.m. Artwork of every possible type will be exhibited throughout the day from 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Residents voting on the budget, two capital reserve propositions and two trustee races will be able to conveniently visit the art show either before or after casting their ballots.
On Wednesday, May 22 the exhibits will be open to the public from 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Visitors are welcome to spend as much time viewing the show as they so desire on either day.
Some of the works on display will carry ribbons of excellence, designating the piece as one of "high merit," in the judge's opinion.
The district's art program has enjoyed another banner year. Huntington students have won an avalanche of awards in a long list of contests and shows. These award winning pieces will also be on exhibit during the coming show.
