Devil's Den Needs Lacrosse Equipment

The Huntington Booster Club's Devil's Den is in dire need for lacrosse equipment for Huntington High School lacrosse players. The Den was created to provide equipment and supplies to any young athletes in need. Located in the basement of J. Taylor Finley Middle School, the 14x5 foot room is available to serve any student-athlete in grades 7-12.

"We really need lacrosse sticks, large helmets, large gloves, elbow pads and shoulders pads," said Krista McDonald, who coordinates the Devil's Den with fellow district parent Sue Healy. "We seem to have stuff for the small kids, but not the older larger boys." Community members willing to help can drop-off items in the Finley main office or contact Mrs. McDonald at kristamcdonald@optonline.net or (516) 967-4045 or Mrs. Healy at suehealy@optonline.net.

While the Devil's Den is well-stocked, it requires a continuous flow of donated gear. Community members, including alumni, are encouraged to look through their closets, basements and garages for unneeded athletic equipment and related items and contact either Mrs. McDonald or Mrs. Healy to donate the goods.

Those wishing to donate equipment can drop the items off at the Finley Middle School main office or the athletic director's office at Huntington High School or by alternate arrangements made through either Mrs. McDonald or Mrs. Healy. Items can also be picked up at homes in the area.

The Booster Club is committed to assisting athletes who cannot afford to purchase the items they need to participate and compete with their classmates. Coaches are aware of the facility and are encouraged to contact the Booster Club if any of their team members need an item.
