Huntington High School's video arts program received a proverbial "shot in the arm" with the airing of senior Daniel Moya's short film on MSG Varsity last weekend.

Sophomores Samantha Carroll and Katie Nugent had their videos showcased on MSG Varsity last month. It's shaping up to be a banner year for the students in the program, who work under the wing of veteran Huntington teacher Heather Swan.

"I was asked to work with MSG Varsity, which means we submit videos, articles and photo galleries of the things going on at Huntington High School," explained Mrs. Swan. "The information is then posted on www.msgvarsity.com and/or aired on Cablevision Channel 14."

The stop-motion videos created by the three Huntington students were aired during episodes of "The Student Director's Cut." Mr. Moya's film, "He Says She Says," was shown last Saturday at 12 noon.

"This is a very exciting opportunity for the students," Mrs. Swan said. "The MSG Varsity representative comes in and interviews the students for the TV show, so the student's work is not only on TV, but they are hosting the show as well."

"We are very excited to be building a relationship with MSG Varsity and opening up more opportunities for our video students," Mrs. Swan said.
