Huntington Medals at LI Track Championships

Senior Shaheem Lewis and junior Y'Majesty Allen proved they deserve being mentioned in the same breath with some of the best high school athletes in the metropolitan area. The two Blue Devils turned in fine performances at the Long Island Track & Field Invitational at St. Anthony's High School last Friday.
The meet drew a field of talented athletes, including state qualifiers from Suffolk, Nassau and LI Catholic high schools. "It was great watching so many elite athletes compete against one another," said Ron Wilson, Huntington's head coach.
Allen was second in the 300m run in 35.79 seconds and Lewis finished third in the shot put with a toss of 52-feet. The performances earned both Blue Devils All-Long Island honors.
Huntington sophomore Matteo McNeil finished 11th in the shot put field of 20 with a personal best throw of 47'3. "He is now the No. 1 sophomore on Long Island in the event and No. 3 in the state," Wilson said.
