Huntington Grad One of Cornell's
Best Ever

Steve Mock has secured a place in Cornell University men's lacrosse history after becoming only the seventh Big Red player to score 100 goals. The 2009 Huntington High School graduate has tallied 38 goals and six assists through 11 games this spring and now has 122 goals and 17 assists in his college career.

During his Huntington career, Mock had 123 goals and 61 assists and served as Blue Devil captain twice. He was named All-Division three times, All-County twice and was an honorable mention All-American as a senior. He also lettered twice in soccer and once in golf.

In the 2013 season opener, Mock became the 39th Cornell player in history to reach 100 career points. On March 16 against Yale, the Blue Devil great scored a career-high six goals to push him past 100 career goals and put him in an elite circle of Big Red players.

The 5'9, 165 lb. Mock plays attack. He has been named Ivy League Player of the Week four times in his career, including twice this season. The Huntington alum has been among the nation leaders in goals per game this year.

This spring Mock has fired off 86 shots, including 53 on goal, notched four game winning goals (he has 10 in his career), picked up 16 ground balls and caused 10 turnovers. He scored five goals against both Hobart and Colgate, four goals against both Penn and Siena and three goals against Dartmouth. He scored at least one goal in all 11 games in which he has played.

Mock, who wears No. 6 for the Big Red, was an honorable mention All-Ivy selection last year. He was named NCAA All-Tournament in 2010 and Ivy League All-Tournament in 2010 and 2011.
