Raul Alvarenga scored off an assist from Josh Canales to lift the Huntington High School boys' soccer team over visiting West Babylon, 1-0. Alvarenga put the ball in the net with about 15 minutes remaining in the first half. Blue Devil goalie Ari Moskowitz stopped a pair of shots in recording the shutout.

Tough Loss for Blue Devils

The Huntington High School boys' soccer team played a gritty game, losing to host Deer Park in two overtimes, 1-0. The Blue Devil defense was at its best, holding the Falcons scoreless until the 91st minute. Huntington goalkeeper Ari Moskowitz made five saves.

Sachem East Overwhelms H-Ton

Sachem East overwhelmed the Huntington High School field hockey team, scoring five unanswered first half goals en route to a convincing 7-1 victory.

The Flaming Arrows scored their first goal about four minutes into the game. Maggie Askerberg scored Huntington's lone goal. Blue Devil Huntington goalies Greta Sarrell (five) and Tara Byrnes (four) combined for nine saves.

Newfield Tops Huntington

The Huntington High School field hockey team fell behind to Newfield, trailing 1-0 at halftime before surrendering three second half goals in a 4-0 loss on the road.

Moreno Stops 10 Shots

Huntington goalie Taylor Moreno made 10 saves, but the Comsewogue girls' soccer team topped the Blue Devils, 3-0. The Warriors scored a first half goal and then added two more in the second frame to secure the victory.

Burnett is Superb

Hannah Burnett was superb as the Huntington goalie stopped 12 shots against a strong Kings Park girls' soccer team. The Blue Devils managed five shots on goal, but never managed to reach the back of the net. The Kingsmen led 1-0 at halftime and put the game out of reach with they scored again in the second frame.

Shutman Wins in Straight Sets

Emily Shutman put on quite a show. The Huntington High School freshman looked strong in winning No. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-1 to help push the Blue Devil girls' tennis team past John Glenn, 4-3. The victory gave Huntington a 5-1 record in Suffolk League II play.

H-Ton V-Ball Falls Short

The Huntington girls' volleyball team hung tough against Sayville, but fell to the Golden Eagles, 3-0. The Blue Devils dropped the first two games by identical 25-18 scores before falling in the third and final frame, 25-12.

Loturco Sinks His Putts

The Huntington High School golf team is humming right along. The Blue Devils easily beat Half Hollow Hills East, 8-1 at Bethpage State Park, where the teams played on the "green" course.

Huntington sophomore Justin Loturco shot a three-over-par 39 on the front nine of the course as the Blue Devils improved to 3-0 in Suffolk League III play.
