The Huntington High School girls' soccer team won its first game of the season when Katie Reilly and Annie Nugent scored first half goals and Hannah Burnett stopped 11 shots to help push the Blue Devils past visiting West Babylon, 2-0. Alexis Thompson and Kim Smith assisted on the goals.

Scott Scores Twice

The Huntington High School boys' soccer team used four second half goals to shutout West Babylon, 5-0. Bobby Scott notched a pair of goals for the Blue Devils, who also received goals from Joe Saginaw, Grixon Moreira and Evert Coto. Luis Rodriquez and Moreira added assists. Lee Reiver stopped four shots in goal for Huntington.

H-ton Sinks Putts

The Huntington golf team won a pair of recent matches, besting Lindenhurst (8.5-.5) and West Babylon (9-0) to give the Blue Devils a perfect 10-0 record.

Against Lindenhurst, Jim Smoot shot a one-over-par 37 and teammate Charles Bast turned in a three-over 36 on the front nine at the Huntington Crescent Club to lead the Blue Devils.

Smoot hit the same one-over-par 37 at the Crescent Club to top all golfers against West Babylon.

H-Ton Falls to Sachem East

Powerful Sachem East scored three first half goals and added two more in the second frame to hand the Huntington girls' soccer team a 5-0 defeat. The Flaming Arrows are undefeated this fall. Blue Devil goalkeepers Greta Farrell (eight saves) and Tara Byrnes (six saves) combined to stop 14 shots.

Petryk Wins Again

Huntington sophomore Suzie Petryk is on a roll this fall. The Blue Devil cross country star completed the three-mile course at Sunken Meadow State Park in a time of 19 minutes and 29 seconds to capture first place as Huntington edged Bellport in the team score, 24-33. (The low score wins in cross country.)

Penalty Kick Decides Game

The Huntington and Half Hollow Hills West boys' soccer teams played to a first half draw before the Colts converted a penalty kick with just 13 seconds remaining in the game to nip the Blue Devils, 1-0. Huntington goalie Ari Moskowitz made eight saves. The win improved Hills West's record to 12-1 in league play.

HHS Loses Lead and Game

The Huntington field hockey team took a 1-0 halftime lead at home against Smithtown East, but couldn't hold on as the Blue Devils fell to the Bulls, 2-1.

Katia DeSimone scored for Huntington. Blue Devil goalie Greta Farrell stopped six shots. The victory gave Smithtown East a 9-2 record in Suffolk Division I.

Burnett Solid Once Again

The powerful Deer Park girls' soccer team scored goals in each half to top visiting Huntington, 2-0. Blue Devil goalkeeper Hannah Burnett turned in another great performance, compiling 10 saves in the net. The victory was the Falcons' eighth-in-nine games during league play.

Cassell Touches First

Sigrid Cassell was exceptional, swimming to a first place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:17.88 to pace the Huntington girls' swimming and diving team to a 95-88 victory at Hauppauge.

Moreira Scores Game-Winner

The Huntington boys' soccer team won a thrilling game when Grixon Moreira scored what proved to be the game winning goal about ten minutes into the second half. Moreira's 25-yard blast broke a 1-1 tie and sent the Blue Devils on their way to a 2-1 victory over visiting Bellport.

The Clippers took a 1-0 lead before Huntington's Hugo Davila scored the Blue Devils' first goal of the afternoon. Alex Castillo and Wilson Martinez picked up assists for Huntington. Ari Moskowitz made four saves in goal.

HHS Falls to Ward Melville

The rugged Ward Melville field hockey team scored three unanswered first half goals and swept past host Huntington, 4-1. Emily Kaca scored for the Blue Devils. Greta Farrell recorded four saves in the net.
