Flower Hill PTA Plans Community Day Yard Sale
The Flower Hill School PTA is organizing a huge Community Day yard sale that the group hopes includes hundreds of items donated by local folks. There will also be food, music, crafts, a tour of a large fire truck and a variety of lawn games on Saturday, November 3 between the hours of 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
PTA volunteers Carla Sainvilus and Jennifer Totura, who are co-chairing the event, have put out a call for additional volunteers to help out at the yard sale or by donating sweets for a related bake sale or non-perishables for an on-site food drive, contributing sports equipment for a student swap or lending a table for use at the event.
Garage sale items are expected to run the gamut from toys, books and clothes to furniture and rugs and much more. Don't be surprised to find some hidden gems among all the goods.
The yard sale is open to the general public. A rain date of Saturday, November 10 has been set should inclement weather force a postponement.
Any local resident who would like to donate items that can be sold at the yard sale should bring the goods to Flower Hill on November 3 between 8-10 a.m. All proceeds from the event will go to the Flower Hill PTA to support its activities at the school. Any leftover items will be donated to local service organizations.
Flower Hill School is located on Flower Hill Road in Huntington. Take Park Avenue north to East Main Street (25A) and head east; proceed to Huntington Bay Road and make a left turn; proceed north to Melody Lane and turn right; proceed to Flower Hill Road and turn left; the school will be on the right hand side of the street.
