Alum to Preside Over Hope Through Health Fundraiser

Huntington High School alum Jennifer Schechter will preside over the 7th annual Hope Through Health benefit at the Huntington Yacht Club on Saturday, November 10 from 7-10 p.m. Tickets are on sale now for $75.
HTH is an international organization that offers technical and financial assistance to community-directed health initiatives in Togo, West Africa. The organization currently provides comprehensive treatment and psychosocial services to over 2,700 people living with HIV/AIDS.
Ms. Schechter, a member of Huntington's Class of 2000, a former Blue Devil lacrosse player and student government officer and a graduate of Georgetown University, serves as HTH's executive director. She lived and worked in Togo for two years as a Peace Corps volunteer.
Ms. Schechter, who is married to HTH co-cofounder Dr. Kevin Fiori, Jr., earned dual master's degrees in social work and public health at the University of Washington in Seattle.
Supporters of the November 10 event in Huntington are assured that 98 cents of every dollar donated to HTH will be spent directly on programs in Togo, West Africa. All donations are tax deductible and eligible for corporate matching programs.
