Fun at Summer Girls' Basketball Camp in Huntington
The Huntington Booster Club has organized a comprehensive summer girls' basketball camp in the Huntington High School gym for students entering grades 3-8. The camp is slated for July 11-14 from 9 a.m. to noon each day. The registration fee is $125.
The camp will be directed by Huntington physical education teacher and basketball coach Tim Madden. He has coached on the middle school, junior varsity and varsity levels and helped the Blue Devil boys' team reach the Suffolk finals in 2009.
The summer camp will accommodate those ranging from beginners to players entering the junior varsity level. The camp will include daily conditioning drills, skill development stations, contests and games.
Since it's a summer camp, participants can expect to have plenty of fun with their friends. They can also expect to learn more of the ins-and-outs of basketball, sharpen their skills, acquire new techniques and thoroughly enjoy the three-hour daily experience.
Players will be grouped based upon their age and ability. All participants will receive a camp shirt. Sponsored by the Huntington Booster Club, the camp will look to provide participants with a solid basketball foundation.
