Huntington's 150th Commencement Exercises Friday at 6 p.m.

An honor guard will lead Huntington High School's Class of 2011 into Blue Devil Stadium at 6 p.m. Friday night for the school's 150th commencement exercises. A crowd of more than 2,000 is expected to attend.
The ceremony will include traditional addresses by valedictorian Carolyn Fante and salutatorian Michelle Byrne along with Principal Carmela Leonardi, Superintendent John J. Finello and Huntington School Board President Bill Dwyer.
A number of seniors will take leading roles in the event. Jonah Kramer will serve as master of ceremonies. Dante Allen and Louis Puca will be the flag bearers as the seniors march from the building, around the track and to their seats. Kaitlyn Millner and Evan Stillman will carry the Huntington High School banner. John Coffey will lead the crowd in the Pledge of Allegiance. Lauren Corcoran will sing Francis Scott Key's Star Spangled Banner.
Seniors Rebecca Deegan, Danielle Cerezo, Benjamin Jensen, Shayne Larkin, Dante Allen and Alexandra Kiley will introduce various officials prior to their addresses. Class of 2011 faculty advisors Eliana Organes and Lori Kenny will announce the names of the graduates as they make their way to the stage.
An orchestra consisting of underclassmen under the direction of teacher Lisa Leonardi will perform processional and recessional selections. The high school choir will perform under the direction of teacher Veronica Mainville.
Alexa Giammarino, president of the Class of 2011 will also announce the presentation of a gift to the high school. School Board members will present the seniors with their diplomas.
In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will move indoors to the cavernous high school auditorium.
