Band Parents Assn. Donates $28K

The Band Parents Association has donated nearly $28,000 to the Huntington School District for use in defraying expenses associated with the upcoming Huntington High School Blue Devil competitive marching band season.
The BPA held numerous fundraising events throughout the spring, including a gala affair at the Fox Hollow Inn. During its public meeting this past Tuesday evening, the Huntington School Board accepted a donation of $27, 924 from the organization.
Trustees also accepted a variety of other donations to the district including:
• Matt Harris donated a Xerox Color LaserJet printer for use at Huntington High School.
• The Huntington High School PTA and the J. Taylor Finley Middle School PTA each donated $3,000 to the Huntington School District's Lunch Fund to help defray expenses associated with the point of sale initiative.
• Charles T. Williams, who retired as an English teacher at J. Taylor Finley Middle School at the close of the school year, has donated 2,000 books to the Finley library.
• Shana Einhorn donated a darkroom timer and darkroom equipment, including trays, containers and easels. The items will be used in the Huntington High School photography lab.
• The American Heart Assn. donated an automated external defibrillator for use across the Huntington School District.
