OOMPAH Summer Arts Program
Opens Registration
Registration is now underway for the popular OOMPAH summer arts enrichment program in the Huntington School District. Classes will be held at Huntington High School from 8-11:50 a.m. from June 27 through July 22. (No classes will be held July 4 in observance of Independence Day.)
Participants can register for up to four classes, which run Monday through Friday. Students entering grades 4-9 are eligible for the summer program. Registration for classes is limited and on a first come, first served basis. Students from surrounding school districts are also welcome, provided they supply their own instrument for music related classes.
There is a $95 fee for each course, which is identical to last year's and includes all supplies and an OOMPAH (Organization of Music Parents of Huntington) t-shirt. A $45 registration fee will also be assessed to cover course materials. There is a family discount of $50 for each additional child registering for four classes.
Detailed course descriptions and registration information is available on the Huntington School District's website at www.hufsd.edu. The brochure and daily schedule can be accessed by clicking on the Arts tab and then on the link for summer programs.
"Our community has cherished the OOMPAH summer arts enrichment program for many years," Superintendent John J. Finello said. "It has provided many interesting courses and many hours of enjoyment each summer."
