Caballero Notches Hat Trick as Huntington Wins

Senior forward Christian Caballero scored three goals to lead the Huntington boys' soccer team over host Rocky Point last Saturday, 6-1. E.J. Connell sparkled in goal for the Blue Devils, who featured an aggressive style of play.
Senior midfielder Brian Carino opened the scoring for Huntington just 90 seconds into the game when he put a shot into the net off of assists from Caballero and sophomore forward Carlos Marquez. The Blue Devils also received goals from senior midfielder Anthony Catarino and freshman forward Ricky Valasquez.
The victory allowed Huntington to get off to the fast start head coach John Pagano craved. The Blue Devils are a hustling, business-like team with a well-balanced line-up.
It was a day of firsts for Huntington. Caballero's remarkable performance marked his first varsity hat trick. The goal by Valasquez was his first in a varsity game.
Marquez' three assists and the outstanding play at center midfield by junior Jon Pena bolstered the Blue Devils' high octane performance. A solid defensive display and the Connell's sure-handed effort in goal sealed the victory.
