Trustees Approve Personnel Moves

 

Longtime Huntington School District clerical worker Valerie Asaro is calling it a career, effective June 30. Trustees accept her request to retire at last Monday night’s school board meeting.

 

Trustees also granted child care related leaves of absence to Woodhull School special education teacher Kelly Trites (Sept. 1 to Jan. 31, 2011) and Jefferson School reading teacher Louise Sugrue (April 5 to June 30). Marissa Damiano, a Jefferson School classroom teacher was approved to return from a child care leave of absence, effective March 15.

 

Trustees also took the following actions:

 

• Approved a change in assignment for custodian Terrish McCoy. He will switch from a 10:30 p.m. to 7 a.m. shift to 3 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

 

• Authorized Tracey McManus to work as a Huntington Teacher Center instructor providing in-service SMART Board lessons at a rate of pay of $66 per hour. The stipend is covered by Teacher Center funds.

 

• Added Catherine Alexander, Liane Neumann and Tracey McManus to the substitute teacher list for the after-school ELA and math program at Flower Hill School. They will be paid $48.01 per hour when their services are needed.

 

• Approved additional work for Clara Krapf, Margaret Florio, Maryanne O’Mara, Lori Grant, Patricia Benavides and Vasundra Sereka related to the registration of incoming kindergarten students.

 

• Approved the addition Angelica Becerra, Lynn Fuschillo and Jennifer Winslow to the district’s standing list of substitute teachers. They will be paid at the per diem rate of $90 when they work.

 

• Approved the addition of Shari Harris, Allison Klaverweiden and Kerri Greene to the district’s standing list of substitute teacher aides. They will be paid $8.75 per hour when their services are needed.
