Bollar Garners All-County Football Honors

Calvin Bollar, who turned in a strong junior season, picked up All-County honors at the recent Suffolk Football Coaches Association awards dinner at the Hamlet Wind Watch Golf & Country Club in Hauppauge.

Bollar, who was accompanied by Blue Devil head coach Steve Muller and assistant coach Tim Madden, was presented with a plaque at the dinner, which was attended by a large crowd of players, coaches and parents.

While the Huntington football team struggled last fall, Bollar galloped for 790 yards and seven touchdowns on 161 carries. He also completed 21-of-51 passes for 220 yards and a touchdown.

Bollar was named second team All-Division as a sophomore after he rushed 96 times for 664 yards and six touchdowns, caught 31 passes for 421 yards and five touchdowns and completed 30-of-40 passes for 258 yards and two touchdowns.

Although not a big running back, Bollar possesses both speed and power and can accelerate well through the line and in the open field. Huntington’s coaching staff is counting on his to show further improvements in his performance next fall as a senior.
