Huntington School Board members approved a full-time custodian appointment for Gary Clasen, effective March 1. He will be the night lead at Jack Abrams Intermediate School.
Trustees signed off on two budget transfers related to the district’s elementary grade level SEARCH program. The first transfer, in the amount of $2,000, will over the cost of transporting students to workshops and field trip destinations. The second in the amount of $500 is for Mad Science workshops and Science Spectacular shows for second and third graders across the district.
Bids were awarded to Matrix Digital Solutions for high school printed forms (academic award and commencement booklets and commencement cards), Et Cetera literary magazine and the district’s annual budget notice and to Tobay Printing Co. for the adult education brochure, The Dispatch student newspaper and the district’s annual transportation newspaper/brochure.
A bid award was also made to Visionary Adventure, Inc. in the amount of $5,030 for the installation of a climbing wall at Jack Abrams Intermediate School.
Trustees approved a change order worth $2,907.48 for work performed by Suffolk Paving Corp. “During the final stages of paving the high school parking lot, we found it necessary to have the contractor do some excavation looking for an explanation as to why a portion of the high school parking lot had a significant drainage issue,” explained David H.
