PTA Presidents and Principals
Share a Meal

The annual Presidents and Principals Dinner offered an opportunity for Huntington School District officials to sit down with key parents from all eight school buildings and share a meal in an effort to strengthen ties and build new bridges between the two groups.
Each year the PTA presidents invite principals and district administrators to dinner at a local restaurant. This year’s event was at Porto Vivo on Gerard Street in Huntington village. A relaxed atmosphere helped provide for an enjoyable evening.

“This annual dinner gives us an opportunity to thank the people most vital to our success, our building principals,” said Denise D’Attolico, who is completing a two-year term as the PTA Council president. “Their constant support of our fundraisers and programs throughout the year is so gratifying.”
“The Presidents and Principals dinner is the perfect way to celebrate the partnership we enjoy with our wonderful PTA leaders,” Jefferson School Principal Margaret H. Evers said. “Good food, warm friendships and productive conversations make for a very successful event!”
“The Presidents and Principals dinner is a great night for a light-hearted dinner discussion and to share highlights of the school year,” Finley Principal John Amato said. “It’s great to hear from other principals and presidents about what has been going on in their buildings regarding PTA and school community events. The principals look forward to it.”

“It was wonderful to be able to set aside some quality time to relax and celebrate all of the wonderful PTA ideas and events that we shared over the past year with our presidents,” Southdown Principal Michelle Marino said.
“The dinner is a great opportunity for principals, central office and PTA presidents to unwind, share information and reminisce about the school year that is almost over,” Huntington High School Principal Dr. Carmela Leonardi said. “I think that this is a wonderful event because it is so informal and therefore is able to create such a friendly and supportive environment. I am also very appreciative of the PTA Council and our own PTA leadership for providing this great opportunity to mingle and get to know each other better.”
The evening was filled with lively table conversation on a wide-range of topics, but the relaxed atmosphere was maintained throughout the affair. “Partnership, mutual respect and appreciation – that’s what the Presidents and Principals dinner is all about,” Ms. D’Attolico said.
