Tri-M Music Honor Society Welcomes New Members
The renowned Huntington High School music program welcomed a dozen more students into the ranks of its elite during this year’s Tri-M Music Honor Society induction ceremony in the School Heritage Museum.
The new inductees include Kristina Casale, Joseph D’Esposito, Alexandra Kiley, Andrew Ku, Oliver Lockwood, Justin LoScalzo, Michael Marchetta, Matthew Petryk, Mia Rienzo, Derek Schmelter, Natasha Siegel and Jeffrey Sun.
The teenagers have displayed not only musical talent but “a strong sense of community and dedicated service to our department,” said Joan R. Fretz, district of fine and performing arts.
Tri-M’s continuing members include Corina Antonucci, Adam Cerini, Johanna Clifford, Lauren Corcoran, Alyssa Crawley, Caitlin Etri, Mikah Feldman-Stein, John Ferraiolo, Lena Freed (secretary), Taylor Fritts, Anna Harris, Evan McCann (president), Kieran McCarthy Fell (historian), Erin McGoldrick, Thomas Monks (vice-president), Tyler Moore, Mary-Liz O’Neil, Anne Scott, Rebecca Silverman (treasurer), Daniel Smith, Max Smoller, Natasha Stollmack, Catherine Tacopina, Colleen Teubner and Ariel Wertheim.
The audience was treated to several well-received musical presentations by students Natasha Stollmack (piano), Joseph D’Esposito (violin) Michael Marchetta (bass), cellists Andrew Ku, Oliver Lockwood and Matthew Petryk. Talented Mary-Liz O’Neil sang while teacher Veronica Escamilla accompanied her on piano.
Tri-M advisor Lisa Leonardi thanked the society’s continuing members for their years of service and their exemplary talent, pointing out that the group is essential to the music department’s operation.
