Blue Devil Sports News

Ron Wilson is working his usual magic with a group of young athletes. This winter he’s been nurturing along the Blue Devil’s boys’ winter track and field team. The squad has displayed impressive improvement every week, all season long. Now Wilson is looking to get the group to peak for the league championship meet on Sunday, January 24 at 11 a.m. at Suffolk Community College – West in Brentwood.

“It's been a great season coaching these young men,” Wilson said. “They truly did an outstanding job all season long. They have been congratulated by the officials and other coaches and athletes as well. What I like is that they didn't boast about their accomplishments. They are happy and thank those who compliment them on their success. That's ‘Huntington Class!’”

Wilson is looking to land in the top three at the league championship. “We placed second in both 2007 and 2008,” he said. “Then our team was mostly juniors and seniors.  It’s going to be tough, but we’re up for the challenge!
