English Regents Causes
Schedule Change

Classes will not be held at Huntington High School on Tuesday, January 11 as a result of the state English Regents exam being given to hundreds of students that day.

"The State Education Dept. will allow this choice and still count the day as a part of the 180-day requirement for calculation for state aid allocations," Principal Carmela Leonardi said. "This option is necessary to provide adequate space and time for the administration of the exam to mainstream as well as classified students who have testing accommodations involving extended time."

"The Regents exam is being administered outside of the traditional Regents week that is scheduled for the end of January as per State Education Dept. directive," said Dr. Kenneth A. Card, Jr., assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction.

Huntington High School students in ninth, tenth and twelfth grades will take their English midterm tests the same day.
