Huntington School Hours
Set for 2010-11
The seven schools in the Huntington School District will operate under the same respective hourly schedules during the 2010/11 school year as they did last year. There are no changes in the starting or dismissal times for any building.
The practice of "flip-flopping" starting times every three years on the elementary level was suspended this year. Had the times changed, it would have resulted in a substantial increase in transportation costs.
"All schools will employ the same hours they did in 2009/10," Superintendent John J. Finello said. "We understand there continues to be some confusion about the school hours. There are no changes whatsoever."
The school hours for 2010-11 will be as follows:
- Huntington High School: 7:30 a.m. - 2:20 p.m.
- J. Taylor Finley Middle School: 8:05 a.m. - 2:55 p.m.
- Flower Hill School: 8:45 a.m. - 3:05 p.m.
- Washington School: 8:45 a.m. - 3:05 p.m.
- Woodhull School: 9:20 a.m. - 3:40 p.m.
- Jefferson School: 9:20 a.m. - 3:40 p.m.
- Southdown School: 9:20 a.m. - 3:40 p.m.
