New Creative Crafts Course in Summer Program

There’s a new creative crafts course among the offerings in the OOMPAH summer arts enrichment program, which will be held at Huntington High School from June 28 to July 23. Registration is ongoing and classes are starting to fill up. Several courses have been closed already.

“Have fun creating lots of fun arts and crafts projects,” states a description of the creative crafts in the summer program’s brochure. “Students will make many traditional camp crafts, including tie-dye, lanyard, string bracelets and mosaics. Open to all grades.”

Two sections of creative crafts will run. The first is slated for 8:00 – 8:50 a.m. and the second will go from 11:00 – 11:50 a.m. The class is expected to be enjoyable for all participants.

The summer arts program is open to students entering grades 4-9. Registration in up to four courses is permitted. Registration for classes is limited and is on a first come, first served basis. Students from surrounding school districts are also welcome, provided they supply their own instrument for music related classes.

There is a $95 fee for each summer course, which is identical to last year’s and includes all supplies and an OOMPAH (Organization of Music Parents of Huntington) t-shirt. A $45 registration fee will also be assessed to cover course materials. There is a family discount of $50 for each additional child registering for four classes.

Detailed course descriptions and registration information is available on the Huntington School District’s website at www.hufsd.edu. Click on the Arts tab and then on the link for summer programs
