Summer Soccer Camps at Huntington
The Huntington Booster Club is sponsoring two soccer camps on the fields at Huntington High School this summer. The sessions will run during separate three hour blocks from July 19-23.
A camp for boys entering grades 9-12 is slated for 1-4 p.m. and a second coed camp for boys and girls entering grades 4-8 will be offered from 5-8 p.m. The registration fee is $125.
Blue Devil head coach John Pagano will serve as program director. Participants will receive a free t-shirt. In case of rain, the camp will move indoors to the high school gym. There is a 10 percent sibling discount for families sending more than one camper.
The high school level boys’ camp is entering its third year. “As a new season approaches, we are committed to raising the bar and continuing to strengthen our soccer programs at Huntington High School,” Pagano said. “We are thrilled to offer a one-week intensive preparatory camp to precede the 2010 season. Our focus will be squarely on both tactical as well as technical training and will serve as an excellent opportunity for both new and current players to get an important head start to the season.”
The co-ed camp is open to players of all skill levels. Sessions will feature technical training and a small player to coach ratio. There will be various competitions during the daily program, which will include ball skills, passing and dribbling, shooting, trapping, tournaments and games.
