Summer Girls’ Basketball Camp Planned in Huntington
The Huntington Booster Club has put together what it feels is an exceptional summer girls’ basketball camp in the J. Taylor Finley Middle gym for students entering grades 3-8. The camp is slated for July 5-9 from 9 a.m. to noon each day. The registration fee is $125 and a ten percent sibling discount is available.
The camp will be co-directed by Finley girls’ basketball coaches Phil Lowe and Rick Agnello. Lowe has coached the Falcons for the past 15 years, as well as AAU and junior varsity level teams. He is known to stress solid basketball fundamentals, “basketball IQ,” court awareness and teamwork. Agnello has been involved in the Finley basketball program for the past eight years and is another fanatic about developing strong fundamentals along with building a winning attitude.
This summer’s camp program will accommodate those ranging from beginners to players entering the junior varsity level. The camp will include daily conditioning drills, skill development stations, contests and games.
Players will be grouped based upon their age and ability. All participants will receive a camp shirt. Sponsored by the Huntington Booster Club, the camp will look to provide participants with a solid basketball foundation.
