Blue Devil Football Players
Share a Meal

While their classmates were busy building homecoming day floats one floor beneath them, Huntington High School football players sat down in the school cafeteria and shared a meal last Friday night.
The junior varsity and varsity parents collaborated on the affair and hosted "a great big dinner party for the football team," Huntington coach Ron Wilson said. "It's really a nice gathering."
The affair's long tradition was nearly interrupted this year, but some cafeteria related issues were ironed out and ultimately a good time was had by all. It opened with members of the coaching staff thanking parents for their continued support, which includes hosting a dinner for the varsity team every Friday night during the season.
Each year the JV squad is invited to join the varsity players and coaches for the dinner the night before the big homecoming game. "It's good because it shows the JV athletes and parents what goes on at the next level and how it all inter-relates to the 'family philosophy' that we have," Wilson said.
The players and coaches came with big appetites and didn't leave much in the way of leftovers. "The food was simply delicious," Wilson said.
