Trustees Approve Leaves of Absence

 

Huntington School Board members have approved leaves of absence for a pair of teachers and for a high school teacher aide and also authorized eight other teachers to return from their leaves of absence. All ten of the teachers involved cited child care as the reason for taking a leave from their position.

 

Trustees granted leaves of absence to Flower Hill School teachers Kimberly Gilroy (special education) and Yafit Lucas (speech). Ms. Gilroy’s leave will run from Sept. 1 to approximately Jan. 29, 2010. Ms. Lucas will take a leave beginning Oct. 8 and stretching to approximately Jan. 29, 2010. Marjory DiPaola, a special education aide at Huntington High School was approved for a leave that is expected to run from Sept. 8-25.

 

Teachers Jessica McVetty (Washington School), Alice Pancir (Jack Abrams School), Danielle Nolan (Flower Hill School), Ivonne Szabo (Southdown School), Sarah Macaluso (Southdown School), Kristin Kopf (Flower Hill School), Christyn Roseto (Woodhull School) and Jennifer Glatzer (Southdown School) were all approved to return from leaves of absence of various durations.
